I’m Chris. I’m a DevOps engineer at Daxtra, I graduated from Heriot-Watt back in 2022, and I’m based in Scotland. Most of what I do for fun turns out to be some version of breaking a thing on purpose and then working out how to put it back together, which is more or less the job description anyway. This is where I write the working-out down.
What Am I Up To?
- Daxtra pays me to do DevOps.
- I’m building Plutus, which tracks what you’re spending across cloud and AI providers and explains why it jumped.
- The homelab has grown well past the point I could justify to a normal person. Proxmox, a TrueNAS box, AdGuard, and a great many Grafana dashboards.
- I lift, and occasionally write about that too.
What’s This All About?
Reviews, mostly. Linux distros, Android launchers, e-readers, note-taking apps, the odd pair of earbuds. There’s fitness writing in here as well, a post about the surgery I had on my chest, and one about the coffee company my brother and I started and then comprehensively killed.
Whatever I’ve been using lately, written down properly.
