Doctor Who Worlds of Wonder Review – A Little World of a Few Wonders

I’m a huge Doctor Who fan. Since it came back onto the TV in 2005, I’ve been a dedicated watcher (until Chris Chibnall ruined it with his horrid writing) and it was a huge part of my childhood. The Edinburgh National Museum is only a 20 minute train journey away from me and so when advertising for a Doctor Who exhibit started cropping up across Edinbugh I instantly decided I was going.

Tickets cost £14 if you go during the week and £16 if you go at the busier weekends. I’d definitely reccomend weekdays if you can. It was pretty quiet when I went and the exhibit was spread across a pretty small space so if it was busy I feel like you wouldn’t properly experience everything. Overall, £14 is a bit pricey for the size of the exhibit but still it’s pretty cool to see all the props and behind the scenes bits and pieces. The whole theme of the exhibit is meant to be the science of Doctor Who so there’s the occasional short video from some sciency people explaining black holes and time travel and other various Doctor Who related bits of science. I think these are more to beef out the exhibit than anything else. The whole thing would be exteremely short without all of the science bits and pieces dotted throughout.

There’s also a little shop just at the entrance/exit of the exhibit which has some pretty nice stuff although nothing I expect you couldn’t get on ebay for half the price. Like a Tom Baker themed tie for £40 is just ridiculous. But the art pieces are pretty nice and not ridiculously priced.

Here’s some pictures of the exhibit, spoilers if you’re intending on going yourself. Also lol at the cat with cross-eyes.
